Review
When Elliot's wife, Karen dies, she confesses a big secret that left him depressed and doubting the love and respect he had for his wife.
His despair makes him shut himself out of the world and his daughter's life for a little over a year. When Elliot finally "wakes up" he decides to find out the truth about his wife's last words, but he also finds out that the daughter that he's been ignoring all this time is pregnant by a loser at the tender age of 16.
Thanks to an online order, Elliot meets Veronica, the delivery girl. In time, Veronica becomes his best ally in his quest to solve the mystery his wife left him with. What he didn't count on was on Veronica becoming his second chance at love.
I truly loved the concept of this book, even though I found it cruel for a wife to leave a grieving husband with such a big secret, I understood the reasons behind it. This is the kind of books that makes you think, what if that was me, what would I do, would I be able to forgive?
I don't know what my answers would be, what I do know is that Morgan's way of relaying a story is unique, interesting and definitely far from boring. The characters are well developed and in Parker's style they all have their quirk, adding interest and distinctiveness to the story.
One thing I could've done without was the repetitions of certain words and phrases, I'm very picky when it comes to that, so it might not bother other readers.
I did love the book and I would highly recommended to anyone looking for a beautiful story of love, forgiveness and finding was more important in life. Another winner for Morgan.
