About the Book
“Alice
Gaines will tantalize your romance taste buds with a book you can’t put down
until the very last page.” NYT bestselling author Jasmine Haynes
Her
brother’s best friend is not only the hottest man Michelle Dennis has ever
seen, he’s the one man she hopes to avoid after leaving town eight years
ago. Of course he’s the one waiting at the airport. Worse, he
made sure they’re staying in the same house.
Pro
football player Alex Stafford is expecting to pick up his friend’s kid sister,
not a full-fledged bombshell. He was planning to apologize for their past, but
the feelings he had years ago come roaring back…and this time, there’s no
denying them.
Keeping his
hands off is a test he’s bound to fail—especially when they’re
stuck in close quarters. But falling in love with Michelle, living in her
world, isn’t an option for a guy like him. And remembering that will save them
both a lot of heartache…

Review
Ever since she was a little girl Michelle had a thing for her brother's best friend, but when he tells her that he has no love for her after she confesses her feelings for him, she feels humiliated and runs as fast as she can after high school from home and from him.
After eight long years they reunite again for his parents wedding anniversary, and the girl Alex last saw when she was eighteen is not the same woman walking towards him at the airport. Somehow feelings that were thought left behind reappear and Michelle and Alex have a chance once and for all to put the hurt they still feel (especially Michelle) and get together romantically.
Words sometimes hurt more than a well thrown punch, and at an age where a teenager is starting to discover herself, hurtful words can last a lifetime. That's what happened to Michelle, even though Alex's words didn't mean to cause so much pain, they more or less shaped Michelle into someone more reserved and a little afraid to take risks when it came to relationships. Alex is not free of insecurities, he sees himself like a dumb joke compared to an extremely intelligent woman like Michelle. In order to come together they'll have to erased mistakes from the past and understand that they both are worthy and deserving of each other.
This is a cute, lighthearted story. The author did a good job developing the storyline as well as the characters. A romantic read, with tamed sexy times and not too much angst.
