Rebecca Underwood lives in a small town and has a quiet, predictable life. That's the way she prefers to live. She put herself through medical school and now works at a respectable pediatrician practice in the small town of Trouble. With her dad's retirement approaching her mother decides to restore his classic car. The problem with this is that the man that can get the job done is the man that Rebecca had and affair with almost 9 years ago, her best friend's brother.
R.J. Devlin is a master mechanic, he has his own shop and is incredibly talented at what he does. He's been a bit of a ladies man over the years but one thing that kept steady throughout has been the insane attraction to Rebecca and the inability to forget the one night they spent together.
A casual discovery puts Rebecca's career and all she worked so hard for in jeopardy.
Will the man she lust for all these years be her saving grace during the whole ordeal or will he keep ignoring her and taunting her?
I really liked this book and it's prove that you don't have to have sexually explicit scenes or language to showcase a steaming hot relationship. Not get me wrong, the chemistry between these two is amazing and you can feel it in every single page. Rebecca is one strong cookie, she goes for what she wants and doesn't stop until she gets it, even if it means she could lose it all. I loved her resilience and her passion for what she did.
RJ is the perfect combination of a strong guy with a heart of gold, he's there for Rebecca sticks up for her during her battle. A couple of times though, I wanted to smack him because of his insecurities.
All and all this was a great read and one I recommend to anyone who's looking for a sweet romantic story with a little bit of suspense thrown in the mix.
