I have to admit that this is the first book that I read from this series and I really liked it.
Ben is the only physician in Hidden Springs, he's great to his patients and a loyal friend, he's also somewhat of a loner. No one knows Ben's past regarding his wife and daughter, they just think that he likes to be on his own.
One day, that changes when Shiloh Bishop arrives in Hidden Springs. 
Shiloh comes trying to start a new life after his abusive much older husband passed away. Shiloh is pregnant and plans to raise her baby on her own. She soon makes friends with some of the ladies in town and after meeting Ben they dance around their attraction, neither one of them wanting to take their friendship to the next level. But when a terrible illness takes over the quiet little town and Shiloh becomes Ben's right hand things start changing for these two.
This is a sweet historical romance with a heartbreaking back story when it comes to both of the main characters. I'm very picky when it comes to these kind of stories but this one will pull you in right away and you won't be able to stop reading. It has very likeable characters, the secondary characters are a great addition to the story. Even though I didn't read the first 3 books I didn't have any problems understanding the back stories, but if you want the full effect I recommend you read the complete series. I promise you won't regret it, it's a well written book with some very emotional moments.






Kristine Raymond loves to read and that naturally transformed into a love of writing. She has always been a fan of the Old West and lived in Arizona for several years, where she was able to appreciate the beauty and history of the region.

She has released three books in the Hidden Springs series and is currently working on a contemporary novel called Tempted. When she is not writing, she enjoys spending time with her husband and furry family, and catching up on her backlog of books to read.
