Captive by Brenda Rothert
Book 2 in Fire on Ice series
Two years ago, Jason and Kate Ryker were brought together by grief and bound to one another by love. Now married, they’re confronting their fears together.
But heartbreak finds them again, and the ties that bind Kate and Ryke are tested as she struggles against fear and sadness. As a grief counselor, Kate understands all too well the pain of her clients. And while her husband’s career as an NHL forward is at an all-time high, he’s coping with the frustration of feeling powerless as his wife's hopes slip away.
Kate’s unexpected journey sheds light on the fear that imprisons her, and reveals that she is the only one who can set herself free
Review
This
the continuation of Kate and Ryke's story. While Ryke, has gotten over
his loss, Kate is still reminded every day of how fragile life can be
through her profession and personal experience. When the cruelty of life
resurfaces, their strength as individuals and as a couple is put
through the test.
I love the characters of these books and the way they have developed throughout the story. Also the fact that the story and the characters are believable, adds a touch of tenderness, understanding and helps you live their lives along with them.
I cried -sad and happy- tears for these two, I rejoiced when things were going their way and I even got upset a couple of times.
I love the flow of the story and yes, we have a bit more of sexy times on this book, which I didn't mind at all. Along with Kate and Ryke, the secondary characters are a great addition to the story. Can't wait to read Luke's story.
I LOVED this book, if the first one was good, this one is even better. I highly recommended. Don't miss on the sexy hotness that is Ryke and the sweet, loving woman that is Kate.
