Torren is recovering from an accident that claimed the life of one of his best friends and the last thing he needs is any more complications in his life. After being hung up on his best friends sister for four years, he really doesn't need to find himself having feelings for his therapist. But in the end, the heart wants what the heart wants.
Tru can't believe that the man she was dared to run and jump on at a bar ends up being her latest physical therapy patient. The pull she feels for him is so strong, she is both enjoying and hating taking care of him. She knows he has a thing for another woman and she can't compete with that, so what else can she do but keep dreaming of Torren.
When these two come together it is a match made in heaven. She gets her alpha male and he gets a woman that won't take crap form him, which makes him crave her more than any other woman he's ever had. The road to happily ever after isn't a smooth one for them. Even when Torren is forced to do the one thing he never wanted to do, the love these two shared remained strong.
I loved this book, and the fact that the heroine was such a strong character just made it much better.
I will be honest, at times, one character in particular made me so mad I wanted to slap her and say, look, you had your chance and you never took it, get out the way and let a real woman in. This just shows how much Lani makes people connect with her characters to the point it feels as if what is going on is happening to one of your own personal friends.
Her writing is addictive and this is one of those books you won't be able to put down. This is definitely a MUST read series.
