This is the second book in this series and it picks up where book one ended.
Our X, stud alpha male that he is, has taken his woman Mercy and run
off to find out who has decided to try and take him out as well as his angel. He doesn't want to believe his best friend is involved, but it starts
looking more and more like he did have something to do with the
attempted murder of X.Mercy is still determined to kill the man who killed her family and X has promised to help her with that. She knows that her and X didn't have a conventional start to their relationship, but she loves him nonetheless. She knows that X will never hurt her, hell, he proved it when he didn't kill her the day he had been ordered to,so she has decided to trust him and follow him wherever he feels necessary to train her for this killing she had in mind to do. She would follow X anywhere, but sometimes things happen and you have to decide what's more important, your own life or the man you love more than yourself.
This book is well written and held my attention throughout, once I started I couldn't put it down. X is such a special character, the glimpse of his past we get makes him all the more endearing. He is a man that has been made to be the way he is but at the end of the day all his bad characteristics feels disappear and he is a wonderfully caring alpha male to his queen Mercy.
The ending of this book came all too quick for me and I was a little stressed when it did.
There was a part where I found myself going no, no, no, oh god don't let it be. I exhausted myself, which only made me love the book that much more.
I would suggest this book to anyone who a hero and heroine that are both kickers and strong while in love with each other to the point where their two halves make a whole, and if you like a hot sex scene or two this is definitely the book for you.
I would recommend reading book one first so that you get the whole reasoning behind the need for revenge these two have.
