Schizoaffective disorder: a mental illness in which a person experiences a combination of mood disorder and schizophrenia symptoms.

I know about this illness—very well—because I suffer from it. It’s been four years since my diagnosis, and ever since, I’ve been living in a dark hole. Voices constantly invading my thoughts. Hallucinations. All of which force me to question if what I’m experiencing is even reality.
But here I am, still hanging on, still breathing and living through it.
That is, until he stumbled into my life. Logan Reed. I don’t want any part of him. I’ve pushed him away, but he isn’t easily deterred. I’ve told him I’m different, but he doesn’t care. He’s trying to slowly break me down. I’m trying just as hard not to let him. He doesn’t know how truly damaged I am; what will happen when he does?
I know the truth—he’ll never be able to look at me the same way again. Just like everybody else.

  Review

First of all, let me say I love Emmy Montes' first two books. I thought they were great reads, but this one, well this one is brilliant.

If you're looking for a happy go lucky book this is not it. This book is raw, and it's pretty much the reality for someone living with Schizoaffective disorder. It's a sweet story and I absolutely love how Emmy portrays Jenna with utmost respect. Yes, she's suffering a devastating disease, but the way she wrote the character is beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time. Not only does she suffer from a terrible disease but she suffering the loss of her sister and being ignored by one of the people who should be there for her always, her mother.

I adore Logan, such a strong and supportive character. He's battling a war of his own once he finds out about Jenna's disease, he's strong enough to put her needs first and understand that her disease very powerful and he needs to make sacrifices in order for her to get better.

Having come in contact with people who suffered this disease, I was immediately drawn to the story. I connected with the characters in a very personal level and loved and respected them from the very beginning.  Also, the message of the story was clear to me, no matter what you're going through in life there's always someone who will walk with you and support you without judgement.

Kudos to Emmy Montes for a beautifully written story.
