Review

I'm so in love with this book that it's been hard for me to put into words all the feelings this story brought to the surface.
These McKinney brothers are lady killers. They have the looks, they are family oriented, but most important of all them have the heart to get to the depth of your soul.
JT or Jake is an incredibly smart guy who is a biotechnology engineer, he lives for his job and even though he misses his family, he lives on the west coast far away from them. At 19 years old he was in a car accident causing him to lost a leg and so much more. That accident change his life and his goals in life, now living with the guilt from that accident day in and day out.
Paige is a young mother, working two jobs and going to school to provide a better future for her and her precocious daughter, Casey. Casey has a disability and this is how JT connects not only with the cute little girl but also with her mother.
What I adore about Claudia's books is that there is not crazy amount of drama, not too much angst, there are stories that could happen to any of us in real life. Her characters are easily relatable, they have a tenderness to them that is not easily to communicate in writing, but you can feel it easily in every one of her books of this series, but specially on this one.
This is not a story where the characters fall in love right away, yes, you can feel the attraction between Paige and JT, but their relationship is slow building, which I prefer because it makes it more believable. The relationship between JT and Casey is to die for, nothing sexier than a man caring for a child. The special bond that develops between them is something worth cherishing. Paige is a great heroine, she was struggling between her two jobs and school but she wasn't one to complaint, she took life as it came and made the best of it. You have to admire that on any human being.
This is a heartfelt, sweet, funny, beautiful story that will have you swooning and will melt your heart.
Highly recommend this whole series!
