Review
There are only a few books you read that make you become enamored, not only with the storyline but also with the characters. Bennett is one of those books.
Bennett is a stand up guy, a loyal friend, a talented hockey player just waiting for his turn to move to the NHL in order to have a better life. He meets Charlotte on a night when she needs someone to listen, on a night when she decides a one time affair with the stranger sitting next to her at the bar is exactly what she needs to exorcise the demon known as her ex-boyfriend. As hot as that night was and as much as Charlotte tried to forget the handsome stranger, some of our acts bring consequences that won't be easy to erased any time soon.
Although Bennett had his affairs in the past, when it comes time to take responsibility and be the man Charlotte needs, he's there one hundred percent. I just adored how loving and patient he was with her. Charlotte may seem to some as extra cautious throughout her relationship with Bennett, but sometimes our backgrounds influence greatly the people we become, and this was definitely her case.
With two great main characters and an array of fantastic secondary ones, Rothert has crafted a well written, realistic story that will have you wishing this story never ends.
The author also proves that you don't need a demanding alpha male to have a beautiful story full of passion, humor, family loyalty, and sacrifices for the ones you love.
