Review
I've been wanting to read this book for a while and I'm glad I finally did.
While this is not a book for the faint of heart, due to the  sexual situations, it provides a very interesting and elaborate story behind each character.
Riya O'Connell is working on her dissertation on male sexuality. She creates an elaborate system to study the subjects she feels will be more helpful, and it all comes down to 8 men at the end.
She will travel across the country to meet with them, interview them, and collect data, in return, she will give them anything they want.
I found that while Riya is working on her dissertation she's also working on discovering herself, as well as helping her subjects do the same. As she goes through her subjects she realizes that perhaps things are a bit more complicated than she had imagined, she might have a lot of academic experience when it comes to sex, but when love became part of the equation she was a bit out of her league.
The selection process the author describes is pretty intricate and I was very impressed with her ideas, not only that, but she describes these men and Riya like they were real, which make it easier for the reader to relate not only to the characters but to the story going on as well.
This is a story with lots of hi's and lows, a true representation of the human psyche. Not all of us are open enough to live something like this or even read about it, but it makes for an interesting and different read.
I loved the end, and I loved that Riya found something I don't think she was expecting.
Who did she end up with? You'll have to read the book and find out.
Well written and excellent character development.
Five well deserved stars for this system.
