Park Avenue Player has to be the best collaboration to date between Penelope Ward and Vi Keeland.
I chose to not read the blurb before I started reading it, and I'm glad I didn't. Elodie is quite the heroine, she's sassy, honest, has a great sense of humor, and is doing whatever she needs to make a living even though is not what she wants in the end. Hollis is somewhat reserved, hard worker, and not interested in relationships or any kind of permanent attachment to a woman. But then Elodie happens and from the get go their chemistry is magic, sexy, funny.
Keeland and Ward created two characters that are a joy to read. Immersing myself into their journey I laughed...a lot, but I also cried. Certain parts broke my heart, they completely destroyed me and tears were flowing freely. The emotions this book provoked in me were too many to count, but I welcomed them and embraced them enhancing the beauty of this story.
Park Avenue Player is a well written story with flawed characters who engross the reader in their lives and transport us into their world. Keeland and Ward outdid themselves with this story. From beginning to end this book is a riveting tale that will stay with you for a long time.
