You want the truth?

The truth is there’ll never be enough time in the world to figure out how to go back.

I’ll never come up with a way to change the outcome.

The truth is I don’t need to hear I have a son.

I can’t deny it’s real because he’s the living, breathing proof my life is out of control.

But the truth is I love him.

The truth is it’s just him and me for the foreseeable future…

Until I met a girl who crossed my heart and changed it all.

Emelia was a bright star in my abandoned sky, and it would take a miracle to keep her there.

I’ll fight for miracles, though, because losing them would mean losing pieces of me.

Review

A beautiful journey of self discovery, of learning to love even when we don't think we're capable or deserving of it, and recognizing that the one thing you weren't looking for ended up being your salvation.

Max and I had a rocky start. He was, plain and simple, a jerk. But soon life teaches him the hard way that a change of attitude and a little humility are in order to be the person his son needs and deserves.
I learned to love Max. The regrets he experienced made him more human and the total adoration he developed for a son he didn't even want, was incredibly sweet to read about.
I admired Emilia's strength to get away from an environment and people who were toxic for her, I also liked her strong will when confronting Max, as well as the motherly love she showed Xander at all times.

Mrs. Tribue takes the reader on a captivating emotional roller coaster. They're moments that will stay with me for a long while, and there is a letter that made me shed more than a few tears.
This is a story that will definitely leave you with a book hangover. A story that will show you that some people are totally worth sacrificing everything for.
