Review
This is the last installment of this series and my favorite.
Once again the book starts where the last one left off.
Jake reveals to Haven the reason why he's been so aloof with her and it definitely is a shocker to her.
Jake is conflicted between the woman he's fallen head over heels for and the woman from his past who came back to make his life more complicated that he ever imagined.
He tries to do what he thinks is best but by doing this he sacrifices precious time with Heaven.
And Heaven being the selfless person she is and knowing how conflicted Jake has been, decides to take matters into her own hands and make it easy for him, even if it means that she has to sacrifice her own happiness.
This book was very emotional and life changing for this characters. We see how much Haven has grown up from the beginning and how she came out of her shell, showing us a more mature woman.
Poor Jake is between a rock and a hard place and you can almost feel how difficult the situation he's been forced into is for him. Even though I have to say, for such a smart man, running a successful company, he acted pretty dumb when it came to his Millie.
The book has a bit of angst and at times I really wanted to scream at Jake to open his eyes to the vindictive woman he was letting manipulate him. And that is the beauty of a book well written, when it makes you want to jump in right in the story and give the characters a piece of your mind.
All and all this is a great conclusion to a good series. I adored the end, it was very touching, heartfelt.
I would love to see Beth's story next, she seems like she has the potential to be a very interesting character.

About the Author

USA Today Bestselling Author Louise Bay writes sexy, contemporary romance novels – the kind she likes to read. Her books Faithful and Hopeful are stand-alone novels although there are some overlapping characters. Bestselling The Empire State Series of novellas starts with A Week in New York. My next series is What the Lightning Sees.

Ruined by romantic mini-series of the eighties, Louise loves all things romantic. There's not enough of it in real life so she disappears into the fictional worlds in books and films.

Louise loves the rain, the West Wing, London, days when she doesn’t have to wear make-up, being on her own, being with friends, elephants and champagne.

She loves to hear from readers so get in touch!
