What happens when a single mother is forced to live with a grumpy, ailing football star? The smolder turns red hot of course.

Amanda Shaw has pulled it together. It’s taken a couple of years, a boatload of hard work, and a ton of self-discipline, but she finally has her problems in a headlock. Her yoga studio in the city has become so successful she’s opening one near the beach, and her relationship with her ten year old son is improving every day. The last thing she needs is a monkey wrench thrown into her smoothly running life.

Grant Hendricks is one big monkey wrench. The four time Defensive Player of the Year, three time NFL sack leader, and all around football god has officially hit rock bottom. A devastating back injury means he may have to retire and that scares him more than doctors telling him the next hit could leave him paralyzed. All he needs is a quiet place to think and his teammate’s beach house sounds like just the place. Problem is, the woman already living there.

You know the drill, folks. This book is chock full of naughty words and steamy moments. Not for delicate sensibilities and anyone under 18.

Review

Two hurt people driven by their broken pasts trying to make amends, one magnificent love story neither one of them expected to develop.

I have so many things to say about this book, but lets start by the two main characters. Amanda, she had a terrible childhood which she barely survived if not for the loving help of an elderly neighbor, a rough introduction into adulthood that ended with a pregnancy and another chance at life. She's so strong, her perseverance is to be admired, her love for her son and her desire to shape him into a good man is her mission in life. Grant, a gentle giant who grew up in a violent home, his biggest fear is that he has those genes inside of him and he will hurt someone he loves, football has been his life, but an unexpected injury puts his career in danger, he's lost, depressed, numbness is his best friend until Amanda and her son, Sam, make an unexpected appearance in his life.

Amanda and Grant's first encounter is on the rocky side, but little by little she recognizes that Grant is experiencing a lot of the stuff that she went through and she starts feeling a bit more compassion for the man. Once their friendship is on solid ground we start seeing the beauty inside these two people, we understand their fears, their dreams, their wounded souls. It's an absolute beauty to see how they help each other forgive themselves for past mistakes and look into the future with a hope that's never been there before. I have to point out that while his character only plays a small part in the big scheme of things, Walter is an important character in my opinion, he's the one who prevents Amanda to fall down the rabbit hole again, the one that makes her understand once and for all how wrong it is just to think on self destructing herself the way she did in the past.

I loved the depth of the characters, the way the author took her time to give the storyline heart, to make the readers feel so much empathy for these characters. This book has it all, humor, a touch of angst, a whole lot of swooning for who has become one of my favorite heroes, Grant, and to make the spark ignite, some deliciously well written sexy times. Bulldozer is a prime example of why Ms. Dangelico has become one of my favorite authors, please send the next one my way soon.

 About the Author

P. Dangelico loves romance in all forms, furry creatures, the NY Jets (although she’s reconsidering after this season), and to while away the day at the barn (apparently she does her best thinking shoveling horse poop). What she’s not enamored with is referring to herself in the third person and social media. Although she was born in Milan Italy, she’s been Jersey Strong since she turned six.
