USA Today Bestselling Author, Andrea Smith, brings the next installment in the G-Man Next Generation series to life!
Bryce Slater is eighteen. He parties a bit. Smokes a little dope now and then. Likes the occasional random hook-up. So what? He's young, reckless and determined NOT to follow in his father's FBI footsteps. That's right, Slate's son is NOT a chip off the old block, much to his father's chagrin.
When a spring break party is busted in his senior year of high school, Bryce finds himself in a bit of trouble with the law. That's when his father steps in and uses his clout for damage control. Bryce is sent to work on a horse ranch right after graduation in order to pay off his debt, and to learn responsibility at the very lowest level.
Enter Avery Sinclair, the 19 year old middle daughter of Circuit Court Judge Trey Sinclair. Avery is managing the ranch over the summer, and finds herself in the position of being Bryce's boss. No easy task, and Bryce does his best to test her limits and push all the wrong buttons.
But when dealing with a bad boy, sometimes a girl's better judgment takes a snooze. And Avery Sinclair finds herself in unfamiliar emotional territory when it comes to Bryce.

"Your turn now Bryce," I murmured against his lips. "I want to see every part of what I've been feeling these past few weeks."
I closed my eyes and heard his soft chuckle as he pulled away from me. I allowed my other senses to take over.
The sounds of him removing his boots; lowering the zipper on his jeans, and pulling his black tee shirt up and over his head.
The scent of his aftershave as his face was once again mere inches from mine.
The feel of his warm breath caressing my cheek; the touch of his lips moving against my skin with his softly spoken words. "I've waited so long for this, Avery. I want to love every inch of you."
My eyes fluttered open and collided with his deep blue ones. He was intense. His eyes flickered over every part of me, and my fingers traced the bulging muscles of his triceps and shoulders. I could feel his hardness against me, and every part of me burned in anticipation of what we would no longer deny ourselves.

Review
Let's get real, being a teenager is not an easy thing to go through. All the changes, physical and mental, are sometimes overwhelming, add to that your parents moving you from what you know and are familiar with to another city and you have more things to worry about and another environment to get used to.
That's exactly what happened to Bryce Slater and for better or worse, he didn't fit well where his parents moved to. The pressures of not fitting in and following in his dad's footsteps send him in a spiral of something that looked a bit like self-destruction. But his parents quick thinking send him somewhere where he could very well find his salvation. Avery Sinclair is the manager for her family's horses' farm, a good girl with a good head on her shoulders and who perhaps is the only one to get Bryce to go back to his usual self before the move.
I'm a big fan of the G-Man series and I love to see their children all grown up and living their own lives. Bryce and Avery are simply perfect for each other, while he's a little wild she's the girl that brings stability and order to his life. I appreciate that the author made their relationship a slow burn and that they were friends before they became lovers. The twist the author wrote into the story gave it the perfect push to make it even more interesting.
This is a quick, fun read with a bit of suspense mixed into it, it will have its audience rooting for Bryce and Avery. Well done!
