1. Do you recall how your interest in writing originated?
If you ask my mother, she'll say it's because she gave me a journal when I was 13 because I was too angsty and she wanted me to put my emotions into something other than my fist in my brother's face.... BUT I think I always loved writing before that. English classes, writing in school, I think that's what sparked my enjoyment of it. I never hated writing papers like other people, or minded a creative assignment if I could make up a story or a poem. I think school is where most appreciation of writing and reading started.

2. How do you come up with a title and character names ?
Usually talking to my editor and agent, or googling online. I use some random name generators and baby books, until I can find one that I like!

3. From all your books what character has been the more difficult and why? The easiest and why?
The easiest was Breaking a Legend, it really flowed from me easily and I was just in the moment. Saving a Legend (which comes out in March) has been one of my most difficult just because of the topic and the fact that I'm worried I might not do it justice!

4.Tell us a little bit about the book that is releasing today, the characters, the storyline, what inspired you to write it?
BREAKING A LEGEND is about down and out ex-MMA fighter Rory Kavanagh and his journey to find a new path in life when he meets a woman on the run from her past who steals his heart. The story line includes a theme about rescuing abused dogs and that's a cause near and dear to my heart, which is what inspired me! The dog's story is based on my own dog's past, in fact.

5. What is your biggest fear as an Indi author?
I'm not actually an indie author anymore. Instead, I'm considered hybrid which means that I do both. I've published 6 indie books, and am open to doing more in the future, however, I've contracted to do at least 11 traditionally published books with Random House as well. I guess my biggest fear would be the same as any author- that no one will read my book!

6. Out of all the other books out there, what makes yours stand out from the rest?
BREAKING A LEGEND, and all of my novels, stand out from others based on the deep emotional aspect of my writing- you'll feel what you read- as well as the philanthropic theme to all my books. Every book I write has a deeper message than the love story alone, and for BREAKING A LEGEND, it's kindness to animals and anti-dog fighting rings.

On other topics…
1. Who was your first crush, remember the name, what attracted you to that person?
It was a kid named Wesley in my fifth grade class because he was the bad boy who didn't give a crap about the rules and did what he wanted :)

2. What did you want to to be when you were little?
I wanted to be a ballerina for a long time and did a pretty good job at ballet classes when I was really little. Eventually I decided I liked to eat food too much and anything athletic wasn't going to work out for me.

3. Do you have any unique talents or hobbies?
I'd hope so! I hope writing is one of them :) Other than that, I don't know what special talents I might have.

4. Biggest regret in life so far, biggest accomplishment?
I don't have any regrets in life. Even if it's something I look back on and cringe, I'd never regret it or want to go back and change it because it made me who I am. Every decision I've made has brought me to this point in my life and I am glad for that. My biggest accomplishment would just be my writing, always the latest thing I've written :)
