Release Blitz #review: The Mistake (Off Campus ~ Book 2) by Elle Kennedy

Synopsis

He’s a player in more ways than one…

College junior John Logan can get any girl he wants. For this hockey star, life is a parade of parties and hook-ups, but behind his killer grins and easygoing charm, he hides growing despair about the dead-end road he’ll be forced to walk after graduation. A sexy encounter with freshman Grace Ivers is just the distraction he needs, but when a thoughtless mistake pushes her away, Logan plans to spend his final year proving to her that he’s worth a second chance.

Now he’s going to need to up his game…

After a less than stellar freshman year, Grace is back at Briar University, older, wiser, and so over the arrogant hockey player she nearly handed her V-card to. She’s not a charity case, and she’s not the quiet butterfly she was when they first hooked up. If Logan expects her to roll over and beg like all his other puck bunnies, he can think again. He wants her back? He’ll have to work for it. This time around, she’ll be the one in the driver’s seat…and she plans on driving him wild.

Review
There is absolutely NO mistake about this book, it's simply perfection!
John Logan is a panty melter hockey player who leaves a trail of broken hearts anywhere he goes. He thinks he has a crush on his best friend's girlfriend, but...does he really?
One night while trying to avoid Garrett and Hannah he goes to the dorms looking for a friend but as luck will have it he encounters, not his friend but, Grace Ivers.
Grace is a freshman and a virgin, a sweet girl who is more worried about her studies than the party life her roommate drags her to almost every weekend. She knows of Mr. Logan and his manwhorish ways, but when they meet something clicks between them and a friendship is born.
Behind college lives and hook ups, Logan's family life is somewhat of a disaster. He has a lot of potential to be drafted into the NHL but because his family responsibilities he's been denying himself the opportunity to make his dream a reality. It's heartbreaking really.
Grace on the other hand has a pretty good, yet unconventional, family life. They complement each other beautifully when it comes to that.
But things happen and one slip of the mouth has Grace and Logan confronting some issues and a break up of sorts happening.
Grace returns her sophomore year with a new image and a new attitude and Johnny boy is going to have to work his butt off to convince Grace that she is without a doubt the one he wants.
I loved The Deal but I really really LOVED The Mistake.
I think the thing that attracts me to this series is that the characters as well as the storyline feel completely real. Grace and Logan are dealing with situations that could've happened to any of us.
You'll love their banter, the way they fight for and with each other, their friendship, and how they help each other grow. Yes, they are some sexy moments between these two and they are definitely swoon worth it, but they don't define the storyline they just add some spice to an already hot read.
I love Grace, she's strong, independent, and courageous, never did she let Logan charm her into doing what he wanted, she made that boy work for it and work for it he did (hilarious by the way.)
And even though he had his faults, Logan's commitment to his family was honorable, showing the incredible man he really was.
This was a fantastic read and I CAN NOT wait until the next book is out. Elle is a fantastic storyteller and I'm game for whatever she decides to release next.
